The people of Finca Rica The launch of this website with these products has been years in the making. Converting the nameless farm from African Palm oil production to Finca Rica cacao farm has been no easy task. The goal has never been just to make chocolate. The goals included employing people, caring for the Earth and land, helping the community, and making great chocolate. So, choosing to convert from African Palm to a native crop here at the equator was an an easy choice

Finca Rica in France representing Ecuador Finca Rica is headed to Paris for the Salon du Chocolat conference. This is our first time appearing at this (or any) chocolate conference and we're very excited to show off our chocolate and make connections throughout the industry. There really are Magic Beans!
Magical! Walking on the farm about two years ago, my son remarked to me that cacao seems like something some child had made up. I see what he means. Cacao is like a tree out of a fairy tale. Unlike most fruit, cacao is so primitive the tiny flowers and thus fruit come straight off the stem and branches, not off the ends. So it's a strange looking plant. The pods change color as they ripen. One of our varieties starts maroon, and as it ripens it becomes bright red with yellow
